Long time no see...lol

We have 20 pieces of jewelry up so far and will be putting more up in the morning. Its almost 1am and I'm still awake, not sure why...lol. We also had our second craft show this past Saturday the 7th which was amazing! We sold 13 pieces of jewelry and created about 7 new ones. Check out our site. I also have over 100 items listed on Facebook that will almost all be on the site soon. The only ones that won't go up are the ones that have sold.

I'm back...lol

Well its been a while since I posted anything new. I've been super busy with kids and just trying to stay motivated to do anything. I think its the winter blues. I can't wait for spring. So anyway here are a few of my new pieces. Nothing to fancy, just some stuff I've been playin with lately. Most of these are little kids bracelets, done with a stretchy cord so you don't have to try and clasp a bracelet on a squirmy one...lol. A few of these little bracelets were made for a friend of mine to match her girls outfits for family pics. They looked so adorable :D The larger ones with clasps are the ones I did for the mothers. I also made an invisible necklace (looks like the beads are just hanging there on your skin. I made it for a friend to wear for a night out. Hope you enjoy some of the new pieces :D

Update

Things here have been crazy lately. I've been kind of in a jewelry funk. I've gotten a ton of new stuff to make some new pieces, just no inspiration. I promise I'll be back into it soon. I've also started going back to they gym so hopefully that will help my mood too. Hope everyone is doing well!

Mother/Daughter set

I made this set for a friend of the family. Her daughter is being "dedicated" tomorrow at their church and she invited us to come. My mom made the dress and its AMAZING! I'll post pics of baby in the dress tomorrow. I really hope they like it.

I obviously have no life...lol All I do is take care of my kids, make jewelry and play on facebook/blog. Here are the newest pieces I made tonight while watching T.V.

Black/Silver Hearts

I made one of these in red and silver and a friend suggested I try it in black, so I did, looks pretty cute I think.

New Jewelry Sets

Here are a couple of the sets I made
for someone. Its a similar style as what I have in previous posts. Here they are all together in 2 new colors, with matching bracelets (new item).

Earrings and a few new things :)

Here are some of the new earrings I've made lately. I don't know why I didn't think about posting them.

The blue,orange and cherry quartz (oval pink lookin one) all match the necklaces farther down the blog.

I also put up another necklace that I did in an amazing yellow stone.

I've also got a childs bracelet on here. Its made with an elastic cord so it will stretch to fit and you don't have to worry about clasps. It fits my almost 5 yr old. Its the baby pink one with the heart.

Most all the necklaces I make are 17inches, but I can make them longer if you let me know.

Forgot to mention...I'm an airhead, you all knew that..lol

I forgot to mention that I also make earrings. For each necklace I can make matching earrings. Or If you just want earrings and no necklace thats fine too. I'll get some pics of the earrings posted tonight sometime.

Jewelry Prices

Ok I think I've figured out prices for my jewelry stuff. I'm basing the prices on material and the time it took me to make them. I'm going to be asking $15 per necklace, $8 for a bracelet and $4 for the little fruit charms (I can add a black cord with clasp to these or a silver chain with clasp for $1 extra). Earrings are $5 a pair.

Each piece is custom, I try to match things up the best I can with the pictures. If you don't like the clasp on a certain picture just make sure to specify which kind you like. Also, if you see something on here, but would like it in a different color please let me know. I can take pictures of different color options and let you choose. I have a great store that I get most all my beads from and she is really good about custom ordering me things I need....I love her shop!

For most items I can ship them wihtin 48 hours of reciving payment. If you are requesting a different color than what I have showing it may take a little longer, I will discuss at time of order. At this time I am only accepting payment via Paypal or a cashiers check. Paypal accounts are very easy to start, but take a couple days for them to verify your bank account information. You also will need to add $3 for shipping (covers the cost of packaging and postage), and add $1 for each additional item.

If you think these prices are to high please feel free to email me and we can discuss it. I think though if you look at other sites that offer handmade jewelry you will find this is a good bargin. Most necklaces on Etsy.com (site for all things handmade) go for $20 or more. Please let me know what you think.

I made this tonight. At my trip to the bead store today I found this amazing green stone. I bought it having no clue what to do with it. So after sitting and staring at my beads for a bit I thought about this....got about 1/2 way done with the hand beading work and my hubby pointed out that it would look a little better a different way, so i tried one bead like he suggested and ya know what, he was right! Next time I'll just ask him before I get 1/2 way done...lol

Upcoming Jewelry pricing

I've had a couple people contact me about not having prices listed for each item I've made on my blog. I have not listed prices because honestly...I'm not sure what to ask for them. I need to make sure I've covered the cost of materials and my time, but I also don't want to overprice the item.
What I can say is if you see something you like on my site, email me at kstoddard1373@yahoo.com and let me know which item you're interested in and we can work something out. You will have to add $3 for shipping (covers postage and padded envelope). I am working on an Etsy site. I don't have anything up for sale yet, but would be HottMommaDesigns.etsy.com when it does happen. Thanks to everyone for looking at my stuff. Its really exciting to know people like what I'm making.

My not so interesting Saturday.

So after days and days of sick kids we were just over 24 hours of no vomiting and then our oldest started throwing up, but was done with the vomiting before I got home. I got lucky I guess, hubby had to take care of that one today. I had left the house already, had a day away planned after dealing with sick kids for 3 days I needed a day off. I went to the bead store today which was a ton of fun. Me and a couple of my girlfriends sat at the store with all our stuff and just hung out and made jewelry. I didn't make much, mainly talked to the owner about some ideas and how to do what I wanted to do and such. So we hung out there, then headed to Goodwill. Not looking for anything particular, sometimes find some used necklaces that I can take apart and use beads for something else. I came home a little after lunch and have just hung around the house all day, not much going on. Its been nice having a semi relaxing day, I don't get those often. Tomorrow is going to be much of the same, hanging around the house. With having sick kids all day I'm going to keep them quarantined for a couple more days till they go back to school on Tuesday, which means I'm going to miss church, but would rather miss than contaminate everyone. I'm probably going to work on my beading stuff tonight once they go to bed since my hubby has homework to do, so check back for new pics :)

Yellow and black

This is my first attempt at a layered necklace. I think it turned out ok. I really like the yellow and black combo.

Red Hearts

I made this tonight while I was watching Grays Anatomy. Each piece (2 red beads and 1 silver bead) was hand beaded and then attached. I really like this one, and wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, just a little time consuming.

A Few New Necklaces

Here are a few of the new necklaces I made. I love the colors of these.

Today I made some fruit charms. One is a cherry charm and one is a charm of oranges. They can be put on a necklace or bracelet or whatever.

Well kids were out of school for a snow day today, so I've been working on my jewelry stuff to keep busy. Sure I could be doing laundry and dishes, or organizing something. I just didn't feel like it :)
